Scanning and Fax-back Surveys

The use of technology to speed the survey process and create a more responsive survey system is recommended. One of the simplest processes would be to use a scannable fax-back form. The survey forms are delivered to the survey populations. The employees mark their responses on the form and then fax the form to the survey consultant. In the US and international, the forms would be faxed to a number which has unlimited capacity and guaranteed no busy signals. The faxed images are optically scanned by the consultant's software and translated into a data base format, ready for processing. Those few employees who may not have access to a fax machine could mail or ship the form to the survey consultant for local scanning.
